Creating Compare Pages
The compare page feature allows shoppers to select a number of products that they want to compare against each other. Compare pages are useful because they help your shoppers compare products with similar features to make an informed buying choice.
Opening the Create Compare Page Wizard
- On the Storefront menu, select Store Builder, and click Create Compare Page. The first step of the Create Compare Page wizard appears.
Defining the Basics
- In the Name field, enter a name for the compare page. Names are not seen by shoppers on your site.
- If wanted, in the Description field, enter a description for the compare pages. Descriptions are not seen by shoppers on your site.
- In the Locales area, select the locales that you want the compare page to support. Make sure you also select which locale should be the default for the compare page. For each locale you select, the compare page will appear on the Product Detail pages (for the products you have chosen to compare) within that locale.
- For the Categories option, select whether you want the compare page used for all categories or specific categories on your site. If you choose to use the compare page with specific categories you will have to then add those categories to the compare page.
- Click Next. The Groups step of the Create Compare Page wizard appears. In this step you will create groups of products that you want to compare against each other on the compare page.
Creating the Feature Groups
Feature groups are the products that you want shoppers to be able to compare against each other. You create groups of products so that you can specify what attributes can be used to compare the products.
- Click Create Group. The Group Options window appears.
- In the Group Name field, enter a name for the group. If you want the name to appear on the compare page when viewed by shoppers on your site, select the Display Group Name check box.
- If you want shoppers to see text/information about the group on the compare page select the Display Additional Content check box and then enter what you want shoppers to see in the Additional Content field on each locale tab.
- When you are done entering the group name and additional content, click Done and you are returned to the Create Compare Page wizard.
- From the Available Features list(s) on left, drag the features you want to use to compare products to the group box on the right side. Continue adding features until the group contains all the features you want shoppers to see when they are comparing products in the group.
- Make sure that the features appear in the order you want them to appear when shoppers are comparing products. Use the arrow icons to move a feature up or down in the list, or use the x icon to remove a feature from the group.
- If you want more than one group of products in the compare page, click Create Group and repeat the previous steps to create the group and add features to that group.
Finishing the Wizard
- When you are done creating groups and adding features to the group, click Next. The Review step of the Create Compare Page wizard appears. In this step you will review the compare page you have created and finalize the wizard.
- When you are done creating the compare page, make sure you deploy it to your store.
