Viewing the Merchandising Dashboard

The Merchandising dashboard shows information about your top-performing offers and tracking programs.

Tip: The Merchandising dashboard uses many of the same elements as many of the other Marketing Dashboards in the Command Console. To learn more about using and interacting with the Marketing Dashboards, see About Marketing Dashboards.

Opening the Dashboard

Required Role: Merchandising DashboardA user role that provides access to the Merchandising Dashboard. Search this file for the "user role definitions" topic for more information.
  1. On the Reports menu, select Marketing Dashboard, and click Merchandising. The Merchandising dashboard page appears.

Choosing the Data to View

  1. From the Sites list, select which site's data you want to view (if your company has more than one site). If you have the Merchandising Dashboard role at the company level you can pick one or more of any of the sites owned by your company. If you have the Merchandising Dashboard role at the site level, you can only select those sites for which you have the role.
  2. From the Time Frame list, select the time frame of data you want to view. You will see the dates of the time frame you are viewing next to the Top Offers, Top Programs, and Marketing Channels labels.
  3. From the Currency list, select the currency you'd like to be used to show the data.
  4. Click Apply Settings to reload the page to show the data you have defined.

Viewing Top Offers

The Top Offers area shows information about the five best-performing offers on your store. If there are not five offers that meet the criteria you have defined, only the number applicable to your selections will appear. If there are no offers that meet the criteria you have defined, a message or dashes will appear.

  1. Click the link that represents how you want to view data about the top offers:
    • Demand Sales – Total value of all sales that can be tracked back to the offer, not including any returns and cancellations. Hover your cursor over the value in the Demand Sales column to reveal more information or edit the offer.
    • Close Rate – Total number of demand orders (orders that have been placed, not including returns and cancellations) divided by the number of unique visitors for the offer or for the parent product of the offer (if the offer is a cross-sell, up-sell, or bundle). Hover your cursor over the value in the Close Rate column to reveal more information or edit the offer.
    • Unique Visitors – Total number of unique visitors that saw the offer or the parent product of the offer (if the offer is a cross-sell, up-sell, or bundle). Hover your cursor over the value in the Unique Visitors column to reveal more information or edit the offer.

  2. Click View All in the upper-right corner of the Top Offers area to view information about all the offers that meet the criteria you defined in the Customize View area.

Viewing Top Programs

The Top Programs area shows information about the five best-performing tracking programs on your store. If there are not five tracking programs that meet the criteria you have defined, only the number applicable to your selections will appear. If there are no tracking programs that meet the criteria you have defined, a message or dashes will appear.

  1. Click the link that represents how you want to view data about the top programs:
    • Demand Sales – Total of all sales that can be tracked back to a program, not including any returns and cancellations. Hover your cursor over the value in the Demand Sales column to reveal more information or edit the tracking program.
    • Close Rate – Total number of demand orders (orders that have been placed, not including returns and cancellations) divided by the number of unique visitors for that program. Hover your cursor over the value in the Close Rate column to reveal more information or edit the tracing program.
    • Unique Visitors – Total number of unique visitors that activated a tracking program by clicking a link with a tracking program ID. Hover your cursor over the value in the Unique Visitors column to reveal more information or edit the tracking program.

Note: Those who activate a tracking program are counted by session, meaning a shopper can activate a tracking program more than once within the same session and thus increase the unique visitor count when they are not in fact a unique visitor. Sessions begin when a shopper enters a store and end when a shopper closes the browser window or tab for that store.

  2. Click View All in the upper-right corner of the Top Programs area to view information about all the tracking programs that meet the criteria you defined in the Customize View area.

Viewing Marketing Channels

A marketing channel is simply a way to track similar types of marketing efforts and is assigned to an offer or tracking program when it is created in the Command Console.

The Marketing Channels area shows information about your best-performing offers and tracking programs grouped by the marketing channel they belong to. This is really just a way to measure the dollars brought in by offers assigned to a specific channel type.

  1. Click the Offers or Programs link to see data about those efforts by marketing channel.
