When you use the custom pages and Files features you have to select which folder/directory you want to use to save the file you are importing or creating. You can also use folders to organize your files in meaningful groups. This can be especially helpful when you have many custom pages or images and resource files in use on your store.
Tip: Plan and create your directories carefully. Once a directory has been created, it cannot be deleted and you cannot move pages or files between directories.
When viewing the Custom Page page or the Files page, you will see the folders/directories listed at left, and the contents of the currently selected directory will appear at right. You will also see a button that you can click to create a new directory, as well as other buttons to add new custom pages or upload resource files.
When you create a directory (or upload a file) it will be created (or saved) in the currently selected directory. You can tell which directory is currently selected in the "Current Path."
When directories are listed on the left side, click on a directory name to "open" the directory and show the contents of that directory on the right side. When viewing the contents of a directory you can click the Up a Level link to move up one level in the directory tree.
When you view the Files page in Store Builder, you will see two directories/folders already created. One folder is called "Themes and Styles" and the other is called "Custom Pages." As you can tell from the names of the folders, the "Custom Pages" and "Themes and Styles" folders are used to hold files you will use with either themes and styles, or Custom Pages you have created or uploaded for your store.
You will not be able to create a folder at the same level as the "Custom Pages" or "Themes and Styles," but you can create folders within the "Themes and Styles" and "Custom Pages" folders as needed.
Before you can upload any resource files, you must select the folder in which you want to save your uploaded files. Make sure you select the right folder as you will not be able to move files once they are uploaded and you will not be able to use files that are not in the corresponding folder.
