Configuring the Import and Export Product Spreadsheet
You can define which product attributes you want to appear in the product Import and Export spreadsheet template. Configuring which attributes appear in the product spreadsheet template can make setting up products in the spreadsheet easier and faster, and reduce the amount of time it takes to process the spreadsheet during an import or export.
Note: To have your Product Import and Export spreadsheets configured for your company, contact your Store Operations team. They can help you determine what changes should be made and do the set up for you (this feature is only available to internal users).
The Product Import and Export Spreadsheet template can be used to define which settings and attributes appear when you create or edit a product with the spreadsheets. The Import and Export template is configured per company. This means that template will be used by all spreadsheets for all sites/stores within your company.
To configure the import and export spreadsheet:
- On the Catalog menu, select Products, and click Import and Export Products. The Products Import and Export page appears.
- Click Configure Product Import & Export in the taskbar. The Configure Product Import and Export Spreadsheet page appears.
- Three possible tabs can appear on the page. Click the tab for the attributes you want to configure. Then, select or clear the check boxes for the attributes you want to include (or exclude) from the spreadsheet template.
- To
include an attribute, select the check box
next to the attribute name. The attribute will appear in the Import & Export spreadsheet.
- To remove an attribute, clear the check box next to the attribute name. The attribute will not appear in the Import & Export spreadsheet.
- Attributes that are grayed out and marked with an asterisk (*) are
required attributes and cannot be removed from the spreadsheet.
- Click the Select/Clear All check box to select all or clear all attributes in a particular section.
- When you are done configuring the spreadsheet, click Save.
