You can retire a product if it is no longer needed. Retiring a product is similar to deleting it. You will still be able to search for the product within the Command Console, but shoppers visiting your store will not be able to see or purchase retired products.
A few more notes about retired products:
- Retired products cannot be edited but they remain in your catalog so that you can create a copy of the product if you want to create a new active product with similar details or setup.
- The stock status for retired products is not kept up-to-date, so inventory numbers will not be current for products that are retired.
- When you retire a preorder product, any shopper that has purchased the product will be notified via email that the preorder has been canceled.
- If you want to un-retire a product, you can make a copy of the product, edit the settings as needed, and deploy the product on your store.
