About Tracking Programs

Tracking programs are used to track the performance of offers and marketing campaigns for your store. With a tracking program, you can see how many orders resulted from shoppers responding to a offer, banner ad, email promotion, and so on. Once you create a tracking program you can add the program ID to links you create so that the promotions for those links can be tracked.

Tracking programs can also help you identify which offers are generating the most traffic to your store. For example, if you are running a marketing campaign for the holidays and you purchase banner ads on three different Web sites, you could create a program for each banner ad so you could see at the end of the promotion which ad resulted in more traffic or orders.

After you create a tracking program, you can view the results for the tracking program by running an online Program Sales and Activity report for the report. These reports show revenue and units sold for each tracking program, and may include other information such as product details, page visit data, offer detail, and so on.
