Managing Partners
Once a partner has been approved to use partner plans, you can change the partner plan they have permission to access or activate/deactivate the partner as needed.
Opening the Manage Partners Page
- On the Catalog menu, select Pricing & Plans, and click Manage Partners. The Manage Partners page appears.
- The Manage Partners page shows partners that have the following statuses: active, inactive, or declined. Partners with the status of pending or rejected appear on the Approve Pending Partners page.
Deactivating Partners
- Select the partner(s) you want to deactivate from the list.
- Click Deactivate. A message appears prompting you to confirm that you want to deactivate the partner(s) you have selected.
- If the Deactivate button is not active (cannot be clicked) it may mean that you have selected a partner that cannot be deactivated. If you select multiple items in a list and a button is disabled it usually means one or more of your selections is causing the button to be disabled.
- When you deactivate a partner their status is changed to "inactive" and they are no longer able to access a partner plan or make a purchase.
- When you deactivate a partner an email is sent to them notifying them that they have been deactivated.
Changing the Associated Partner Plan
- Select the partner for which you want to change the associated partner plan.
- You can only change the partner plan associated with a single partner at a time.
- Click Change Plan. The Change Partner Plan window appears.
- From the Choose a Plan list, select the partner plan you want to provide the partner access to.
- Partners can only be associated with a single partner plan at any given time.
- The Choose a Plan list shows those partner plans that are deployed and currently active within the current time frame.
- If a partner plan has not been deployed or is set to be active in a time frame outside the current day, it will not show up in this list.
- Click Save. The Change Partner Plan window closes and the partner is associated with the partner plan you chose.
- When you change the partner plan associated to a partner, the partner is assigned the tier (sales level) in the new partner plan that most closely resembles their purchase behavior in the previous full month.
- If the partner does not have any purchase behavior in the previous month they are assigned the lowest tier in the partner plan.
- For example, imagine you are assigning a partner to a new partner plan that has three unit-based tiers (bronze: 1-5 units, silver: 6-10 units, and gold 11-infinity units). If that partner purchased 7 units of products during the last full calendar month in their previous plan, they would be assigned to the second sales level named "silver" in the new partner plan. If the partner had purchased 13 units, they would be assigned to the "gold" level, and so on.
