Subscription Cancellations

canceling a subscription order is not the same as canceling the subscription itself. A subscription can be canceled at any time but an order can only be canceled under special circumstances. The following explains how a subscription can be canceled:

Subscription Cancellation Notifications

When a subscription is canceled, one of three emails may be sent to the shopper depending on why the subscription was canceled. The actual content and wording of these notifications can differ, based on your store has customized them.

Notification Name Reason Sent
User Subscription Cancellation - Auto Renewal Notification

Sent when the subscription could not be automatically renewed. This means there was some problem with the shopper's payment method. Usually contains information on how the shopper can manually renew.

User Subscription Cancellation - Manual Renewal Notification

Sent when the systems cancels the subscription because the shopper did not manually renew the subscription. Usually prompts the shopper to manually renew.

User Subscription Cancellation - Other Notification

Sent when the subscription is canceled prior to expiration by the shopper or Customer Service. Mainly intended to tell the shopper the subscription has been canceled per their request
