About Compare Pages

The compare page feature allows shoppers to select a number of products that they want to compare against each other. Compare pages are useful because they help your shoppers compare products with similar features to make an informed buying choice.

Shoppers choose products they want to compare when viewing a category of products (on the Category List page) or the details of a product (on the Product Detail page). By default, shoppers can select five products to compare but you can change the site setting  so that shoppers can compare up to 10 products.

Using Compare Pages

If you want to use compare pages on your store, you must do the following:

  1. Get the feature enabled in site settings. Only Digital River staff can enable this feature so please contact your Store Operations team for help getting the feature enabled for your site.
  2. Create a compare page.
  3. Add the compare page CSS to the style used on your store. Make sure you add the CSS to the style used by the Category List and Product Detail pages on your store.
  4. (Not Required for Every Site) If your store is not using the default content layout for the Category List page, you will have to add some code to the content layout you created for the Category List page for the compare feature to work correctly.
